The Greetery: Winter’s Song Collection Day 1

Hey friends! We’re showcasing the first half of the Winter’s Song release at The Greetery today and I have a few pretty things to share with you! Although this Collection Mini Release is winter focused, I’m still in the holiday card mindset, so that’s what I made this time round.

Today is Day 1 of the reveal, following with Day 2 tomorrow and finally the full release on Friday morning! In the meantime, click on over to The Greetery Blog where you can see all the individual components of the release and how they work together.

There are SO many cool pieces in this release that I had to rein myself in to keep from going off in a hundred directions at once! There is a layering set that is so pretty and EASY TO USE! I just can’t emphasize that enough, how well The Greetery’s layering stamps work!

After stamping the flower and pine cluster, I die cut it and set it aside. I then used the Inside and Out Berry Branch – such a cool die! – to die cut from heavy watercolor paper. I removed the outside portion of the die cut and used it for a mask to ink blend the shadow image on the card front. I then watercolor painted the inside portions of the die cut and set them aside to dry.

Finally, I layered all the pieces onto stencil blended card front, tucking the watercolored pieces behind the stamped and die cut cluster. I stamped a sentiment from the Sentiment Suite: Christmas stamp set and die cut it with a Sentiments Suite Basics banner die, and added a coordinating piece of pink plaid patterned paper. To finish, I added some silver glitter enamel dots.

The next project I want to share is the Speed Tagging Prints Paper and die! Also so cool! The paper pack comes with 2 sheets each of 3 different designs, each page comprising seven different tags. Each sheet has marks to line up the die (which you don’t want to cut apart) so that you can cut the whole sheet in one pass through your die cutting machine. The die also coordinates with a red rubber stamp set that you can use to make your own any-occasion set of tags. So versatile!

After cutting the tags out, I stamped sentiments from the Sentiment Suite Christmas, to stamp messages onto the tags, then die cut some background tags from a variety of 6″x 6″ paper packs to coordinate.

Doubled up like that gives them some extra flair I think! I tied them all up with coordinating jute, twine and embroidery thread and now I have a stack of cute little gift tags ready to go!

This tag die is going to get a proper workout, as I have it on good authority that there will be other tag sheets released seasonally!

My final project today uses more of the tags as well as the Berry Branch stencil, which I masked off to use three grouped branches, then ink blended a couple of overlapping layers of the stencil.

I stamped a holiday greeting onto another little tag combo, tied them together with gold cord and adhered them overtop the stenciling.

I tucked a couple of the leftover watercolor painted Inside/Outside die cut branches under the tags and adhered everything in place. I used a coordinating brush tip marker to “fake” the ink splatters. I cropped the card panel slightly smaller than an A2 sized card and matted it with some green cardstock before gluing it to the card base. These little tags are such a quick and easy way to assemble a card when you don’t have extra time for fussing a card into creation!
