Technique Tuesday Chrysanthemum Greenhouse Society Card

Hi, hey! As promised, I have a second card to share that I’ve made using the September Greenhouse Society Stamps and Dies. This month’s release is called Chrysanthemum and you first saw me use it here. Today’s card shows a different technique with the same stamp set.

For this card, I stamped all over a piece of dark salmon colored cardstock and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

Then I shaded the florals with dark and light shades of tomato red Copic markers, and the leaves, with shades of green.

Next, I used the Hugs sentiment die included in the coordinating die set to cut 4 layers of colored cardstock, stacked and adhered them together. I couldn’t find a piece of gold cardstock in my stash that matched well enough to the embossed images to make me happy, so I made my own by inking some plain white cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossing with the same gold embossing powder I used for the stamped images.

I cut the gold strip and layered it across the card front and adhered the “hugs” to that. The stamped card panel is matted with more of the same cardstock used for the die cuts, and adhered to a card base. Finally, I added some Gold Nuvo drops to fill in an empty spot in the design and to support the rest of the gold elements.
