Technique Tuesday Animal House cards + giveaway!

Hello, hello!  I’ve got some more Technique Tuesday fun to share today!  Some cute stamps and cards, a new release, a stamp freebie offer, AND a chance for one of my followers to win a Technique Tuesday stamp and die set of your choice!  Who doesn’t love that!?

The stamp set I used for today’s cards are from the June Technique Tuesday release, called Duck Swan Goose, and it’s just one of several seriously cute stamp sets plus coordinating dies – all summer related.

There are also some strawberries, some sweet summer treats and some “punny” fruits (you know how I feel about puns!) and much more!  Go here to check out the whole June release.  And while you’re at it, check here for the free stamp set offer!

Now, onto the cards!

For this card I lightly blended some distress ink onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock, then used a stitched wave die to create the wave that I could tuck the goose and duck into.  I used this sentiment stamp set as well to drive the point home that if you leave me…I willll fiiiinddd you….!  I exacto-ed the birds’ wings so they could hang over the wave and adhered the whole panel as one to the card base.  Added a black and white patterned paper strip along the side to finish.

Next up is my first recent effort with alcohol inks!  I cut my alcohol ink covered Yupo paper into a circle and anchored the Zig brush-marker colored duck and stamped sentiment to it.  Then I ran the front part of the card base through the embossing machine with an embossing folder that reminds me of ripples on the water and adhered the stamped, inked layers onto that.  Of course everything gets a few Nuvo drops to finish.

For this last card, I blended more Ranger Distress ink onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and then stamped all the little butterflies and dragonflies using a slightly darker colored ink.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the patterned paper on the bottom and layered the die cut swan with some foam adhesive for extra dimension.  I don’t generally mind fussy cutting, but I do love the quick zip, zap, zoop of a matching die set!
