Spellbinders Sending Love Card

Hello, hey! Welcome back again! Today I’m sharing a card I made for Valentine’s Day already! The Spellbinder’s Clear Stamp of the Month Club Kit called Sending Love, is a selection of hearts, two of which have sentiments written in them, plus a narrow strip Happy Valentine’s Day greeting stamp. It is available for the month of January when you subscribe to the Clear Stamp Club.

For today’s card I stamped on watercolor paper using all 5 of the heart stamps in the Sending Love stamp set. But wait, aren’t there are 6 heart stamps in the set? Well, yes, there are, your’s will have 6, mine came with 6, but alas and alack, I have lost one. It was one of my favorites in the set too. It won’t stay lost forever I know, but it’s lost right now and that’s what matters. I took it out of the package to stamp with, got distracted by something else, piled some other items on top of it (never pile things on top of clear, sticky, acrylic stamps) and put those stacked items away with a small heart stamp stuck to it’s backside unbeknownst to me. Now that I’ve made a card without it and posted about it, the stray heart stamp is sure to show up! That’s always how it is.

Anyway, back to the card how-tos. So I stamped on watercolor paper, used the MISTI for excellent repeat stamping as necessary, and Versamark embossing ink. I heat set with white embossing powder.

Then I laid puddles of paint down (in a variety of pinks and reds) on my craft mat, spritzed them well with water to dilute the color, then pressed the cardstock face down onto the wet paint. I picked it up, checked the front, pounced the card panel down again repeatedly until the front was covered with random splotchy patches of paint. Then I set it aside to dry.

Part of the greeting on the card is included in the “sending love” heart, but the stamp set also has a lovely little “happy valentine’s day” sentiment that I wanted to use, so I stamped it on dark gray cardstock and heat set with white embossing powder, and affixed it to the bottom right corner of the card. A few little gray epoxy hearts from Altenew complete the card!

I’ve mentioned it before, but it bears repeating that Spellbinders offers a number of various Club Kits each month at a reduced price and at even better rates when you bundle clubs! You can check them out here.

Thank you so much for dropping by and have a wonderful day!
