Paper Rose Studio Leafy Thanks Card

Hey, hi friends! I made another card with the gorgeous Paper Rose Studio stamps and wanted to share it with you here. It’s up on the Simon Says Stamp blog today as well, and you can check it out there.

It’s a pretty simple, but impactful card, combining an all-over stamped design with a couple of die cuts that coordinate nicely with the stamped images.

I used most of the leaf designs in the Ella’s Garden Scribble Leaves stamp set along with a few of the smaller, filled in stamps from the Ella’s Garden Rose Bouquet stamp set. I stamped with embossing ink and heat set with gold embossing powder. For the open leaf images I very simply painted them, with no color blending, in colors of deep green, navy and terra cotta.

I painted in the background with more diluted shades of these same colors, mixing them together to create the “muddier” tones. Once it was all dry, I added some paint splatters.

Next, I die cut a solid blue/gray cardstock leaf branch, using the Baby Blue Leaf die, and a gold outline leaf with the Baby Blue Leaf Outline die. I stamped some plain white cardstock all over with embossing ink, heat set with gold embossing powder and die cut with the “thanks” die. Then I used the “thanks” shadow die to cut an opening from the painted card panel.

I adhered the cropped, painted card panel to a folded card base, glued the “thanks” into the opening, right onto the card base, then poked a hole in the fold of the card and threaded some gold twine through the hole. Finally, I wrapped the gold twine around the front of the card and tied the leaf die cuts up with a bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a very good day!
