STAMPtember Release – Engraved Feather Card

Hey, hi there! It’s September 1st and you know what that means!! It’s STAMPtember again, the 11th anniversary of a month long stamp (and die cutting and coloring and ink-blending and card-making) galapalooza! Simon Says Stamp has a HUUUGE new release, (you can check it out here) and I have a card to share today made with one of the sweet new dies in the release, the Engraved Feather!

Be sure to read to the end of this post for more info about the Simon Says Stamp Blog Party being held tomorrow with a scavenger hunt and different promotions being offered at each blog!

The feather die did double-duty for today’s card, 1st cutting a mask from masking paper that let me stamp a text shadow behind the 2nd feather, die cut from Neenah Solar White cardstock.

I used the CZDesigns Simple Sentiments stamp set to stamp the greeting onto navy cardstock and heat set with white embossing powder. The text stamp for the background shadow is the You Are background stamp and I used Desert Night Crisp Dye ink to stamp the text.

After stamping the shadow feather shape, I trimmed the card panel slightly smaller than an A2 sized card and adhered it to a dark blue card base. Then I positioned and adhered the die cut white feather (don’t you love the detail in that die cut?) and the sentiment strip across the top.

It’s a pretty easy technique for a CAS design with big impact!

Tomorrow is the official Stamptember kick-off with a Blog Party (not a hop exactly, but a long list of links to all the partiers who are contributing) and there will be a TON of exciting new and fresh inspiration, not to mention a fun scavenger hunt to uncover some promotions that will save you money! I can hardly wait to check it all out and I hope you’ll be back here again to see another card made with the Engraved Feather die!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
