Hi, hello, here we go again! I shared several cards last week made with the GinaK Delightful Blooms stamp set (and the Viviva Colorsheets) and today I want to show you a couple of cards made with the Beautiful Butterflies and the Grow Positive Thoughts stamp sets.

The first card today is the Birthday Wishes card made with the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set. I stamped three of the nearly one dozen butterflies in this stamp set, stamping on previously alcohol-inked Yupo paper.

Yupo paper is not technically “paper” as much as it’s plastic sheets on which alcohol ink can freely move. Because of that, it’s tricky to heat emboss on Yupo paper – it warps/melts easily – but if you get the heat gun hot and keep it moving swiftly, you can do it. The minor amount of warpage I got is ok with me, since it looks a little like wings in flight!

Once the Yupo paper was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder, I used the coordinating dies to die cut the butterflies. Then I arranged them in graduating size onto pattern paper that matched the butterflies. I used a sentiment from the Delightful Blooms stamp set, stamping on vellum paper and heat setting with black embossing powder. I trimmed the vellum to a narrow strip and wrapped it around the patterned paper panel.

The next card is one made with the Grow Positive Thoughts stamp set. For this one, I stamped on watercolor paper with watercolor friendly ink.

I painted the flower head-dress with Mijello Mission Gold watercolor paints, not worrying about separating flowers from leaves or anything. I just picked “patches” and added color in whole areas. Once dry, I fussy cut the image and adhered it to a background of solid colored textured cardstock.

I chose one of the sentiments in the Positive Thoughts stamp set, but I cut it in half so I could stack it over the portion of the face representing the mouth. I love that message, and it feels even more authentic for it’s placement. I dunno, maybe that’s just me. There are a bunch of great messages included in this stamp set, perfect for sending a supportive and uplifting card to a friend or loved one!

To complete the card, I added a strip of coordinating patterned paper along the bottom and an exploding rainbow of enamel dots bursting out of the floral arrangement.

That’s it for me today! Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
