Altenew Watercolor Coloring Book Card

Hello, hi! I have a post up on the Altenew Card Blog today and wanted to share it here as well! Beyond the simple technique of painting a page in the Altenew Watercolor Coloring Book, I added a background for some extra pizzazz! Let me show you….

I won’t go through all the details here as to how I created this card because you can find it all over on the Altenew Card Blog, including step out photos of the creation of the “wood fence” background, so feel free to click over there for the how-tos.

Basically though, I selected one of the images in the watercolor coloring book, and used Woodless Watercolor Pencils along with the 24 Pan and 36 Pan paint sets to paint the flowers.

Then I drew the lines in the background and painted them to look like a weathered plank fence! When everything was painted and dry, I added paint speckles in black and white, and stamped a greeting from the Framed Foliage stamp set, heat setting with clear embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
