Hello, hey! I’ve got another cute and punny monkey card for you today! I used the Technique Tuesday Monkey Business stamp and die set – April’s Animal House release – to create it.

I used a similar technique on this card as I did for another monkey card this month, where I created the background by running an A2 card panel through the Sizzix machine with a Darice Ferns embossing folder (widely sold out – check eBay or Etsy) and then ink blending all over the card stock with two shades of green ink – Ranger Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles.

As with each of the TT-Animal House monkey cards I made this month, I began by stamping the monkeys onto Neenah Solar White cardstock, coloring them with Copic markers, (should I be keeping track of the Copic colors I use, to share them with you? Let me know in the comments) and die cutting them with the coordinating dies. Plus cutting extra die cuts so I could adhere them in little monkey stacks to make a thicker embellishment for my card fronts.

Next, I measured the same distance in from each corner of the inked card panel and poked holes with a needle. Then I sewed from corner to corner with black embroidery thread to create a focal frame. I stamped the sentiment onto a black cardstock strip and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I arranged the three monkeys and the sentiment strip in a way that balanced them all, and adhered them with a strong liquid glue.

Don’t forget that by becoming a member of any of the Technique Tuesday monthly clubs, you can have them auto-shipped to you at a 25% discount.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today and have a wonderful day!
