Technique Tuesday April Release Blog Hop

Hello friends! I’m pleased to be joining Technique Tuesday design team today for their monthly blog hop showcasing the April release! If you’ve arrived here from the blog of Latisha Yoast, then you are just where you should be, but if you’ve happened here by chance, you can head to the Technique Tuesday blog to start at the beginning of the hop.

I’m working with the Monkey Business stamp set, plus the Monkey Business Die Set – part of the Animal House monthly series, and I’ll have several projects to share over the next few weeks. I should mention, that by becoming a member of any of the auto ship programs at Technique Tuesday, Animal House, Fresh Cut, Green House Society or Memory Keeping, you will save 25% on each set!

To create today’s project, I started by stamping the cute little monkey image onto Neenah Solar White card stock, and coloring with Copic markers. Using the coordinating dies I cut a few more layers of card stock to give the little guy some dimension and adhered him to a wonky stitched die cut rectangle. I strung a piece of thin jute thread to give him a vine to hang from, and adhered it on the back.

I’ve mentioned before the delight I get from the Technique Tuesday puns, and I chose two for this card that worked perfectly with the little jute vine. For the card panel, I ran some white card stock through the Sizzix machine with a Darice Tropical Leaf embossing folder. Then I sponged on some color using the Ranger Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles. Working lightly with the sponge applicator allows the color to lay down more heavily on the raised surfaces and more lightly in the recessed areas.

Thank you for stopping by today! Your next and last stop on the hop is the blog of Yasmin Diaz. Below is the complete blog hop list should you encounter a broken link along the way.
