Technique Tuesday Crocodile and Alligator Cards

Hey, hi! Back again today with these two cards that were shared on the Technique Tuesday blog yesterday. I used the May Animal House stamp and die set called Alligators and Crocodiles.

Once again, this stamp set gives you the funnest sentiments to work with, such as “Feeling Swamped? That Bites!” and “Getting Older? What a Croc!”

To create the subtly textured background for the first card, I incorporated an all-over die cut from the By The Numbers Die.

Over top of that I adhered the stamped, Arteza Real Brush marker colored and die cut alligator (or is it a crocodile? Other than where they live but not much more – they are a closely related reptile – I’m not going to try and distinguish between them) onto the number die cut, along with a stamped and white heat embossed sentiment that I popped up with a layer of foam tape.

The second card was fun from it’s conception! I knew I wanted to create a sneaky Gator hiding in the swamp, so I used a water and waves stencil to blend a couple of blues in the Distress Ink line, and then cut it out along one of the lines at the top. I tucked a colored and cut out Croc under the top of the waves, added a bird to sit on top of his head, and let his cheesy grin either charm or terrify you. Your choice! I added the sentiment at the bottom with some Versafine Onyx black ink and a few enamel dots, to tie it all together!
