Simon Says Stamp DieCember Etched Evening Blossom Card

Hello friends, it’s December the One-th which means it’s DieCember at Simon Says Stamp!! I’ll be back in a couple of days for a blog hop, but in the mean time here’s a sample of what this month’s release holds!

I used one of the newly released dies – the Etched Evening Blossom – on this card, plus a few products from past releases that I am so happy are still available so I can share them with you because they are classics and so versatile and I love them!

The flower die cut that is taking front row attention is the Etched Evening Blossom die, and I cut it once from watercolor paper and twice more from scrap cardstock before stacking and gluing together.

I did a Watercolor Smooshing Technique to color the watercolor die cut. The capital letters make it a legit/official technique, that’s how you know. Then I used the SSS Friendship Text Background stamp to lightly stamp on a piece of watercolor paper – not because I planned to paint on it but because I wanted a perfect match of paper color.

I die cut the texty background with the Heffy Doodle Imperial Stitched Rectangle dies and adhered it to a pale green textured cardstock card panel. I die cut the “thanks” sentiment with the SSS Script Thanks dies, cutting extra layers for the silhouette shape and a single layer of watercolor cardstock (again, for perfect paper tones) for the word die cut. I adhered everything to a folded card base and added a few pale pink enamel dots to complete the card.

I hope you’ll check back again on Friday for the Day 2 DieCember blog hop when I’ll have another project to share! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
