Hi, hello! It’s a new month and that means we have some great new products to share from Technique Tuesday as well as a blog hop to show you even more inspiration! If you’ve arrived here from Seeka’s blog, then you’re on the right track, but if not, you can click back to the beginning at Technique Tuesday and be sure to not miss anything.
This month I am playing with the Animal House release – Helen and Harry the Hippos stamp and die set and the Blooming Branches stamp and die set from the Greenhouse Society release.
I have other projects made with the same stamp sets that I will be sharing later on this month, and it’s hard to decide which ones to share first! When I got the Hippo set in the mail I was delighted that one of the sentiments included said “Hippo Birdie to you”. I have long loved that sentiment so I’m going to share that card first!
All of my images are stamped onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with alcohol friendly ink – Memento Tuxedo Black ink – and colored with an assortment of alcohol markers by Altenew and Spectrum Noir. I was in a relaxed and happy, just home from vacation mood so it’s no surprise that all of the hippos got colored in “non traditional” hues! After using the coordinating die to die-cut the colored hippo, I grounded her on a die-cut circle of “stitching” impressed cardstock. The hearts are die cut from the Heart Strings dies.
I then stamped, die cut and colored a happy little rainbow of birdies to help express the greeting and I used a large arc to draw my banner lines for them to sit on. This was a very quick and fun card to create.
Next up is my card made using the Greenhouse Society stamp and die set for this month, called Blooming Branches.
I stamped the Blooming Branches image onto watercolor paper and painted the blossoms with watercolor paint from Altenew. I used the same color of paint to paint some stripes across a piece of watercolor paper and splattered it with more paint as well.
Once dry, I adhered the watercolor panel to a card base, along with a strip of coordinating green patterned paper. I stamped a sentiment from the set with dark grey ink. There are some beautiful sentiments in this set, that I know I’ll be using again and again!
Using the coordinating die I die cut the image. I cut a 2nd piece from thick cardstock to adhere to the back of the painted die cut. I wanted a little bit of dimension but not enough to be bulky, so one extra layer was just enough. Then I added some clear sequins from Pink & Main and called it good!
Your next stop on the hop is Jung’s blog. Jung does beautiful work, so you won’t be disappointed there! Following is a complete blog hop list.
