Hey, hello! I have a couple of cards to share today. They’re actually part of a blog hop today that is going on over at Instagram, where Altenew is celebrating reaching the significant 50K followers milestone!! WooHOOO Altenew!!

The theme of the blog hop is Say It With Flowers, which suits me just fine, as it’s my very favorite kind of card to make. And as usual, I couldn’t stop at just one!

I used the Weekend Doodles stamp set and stamped on vellum paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the leaves and flowers very simply, with Altenew’s alcohol based Artist Markers, on the back of the vellum (so I wouldn’t discolor the white embossed lines on the front), then die cut the image with the matching dies.

Next, I stamped a background onto some pink textured cardstock from my stash, using the Delicate Flower Bed stamp set and white embossing powder. I put tiny dots of liquid adhesive on the back of the vellum in places where the white embossed lines would cover the glue, and adhered it to the card front. I kept the glue to the stems and flower bases so that the outside edges of the vellum die cut could lift and have some added dimension and interest.

I stamped a sentiment from the Weekend Doodles stamp set onto a vellum strip and heat embossed with gold embossing powder and wrapped it around the front card panel. Then I added a few gold Nuvo drop accents to tie in with the gold embossed sentiment.

On the second card, I again, stamped the same image onto vellum and white heat embossed, colored the backside of the vellum and die cut it with the coordinating dies. Then I stamped one of the leafy images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock using a variety of green inks, and positioned to appear as background greenery.

The sentiment is another from the Weekend Doodles stamp set, and is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I trimmed the stamped panel short and popped it up with foam tape, then adhered it to a card base with a strip of gold paper (couldn’t lay my hands on my Altenew thin gold washi tape. It would have been perfect!) and a piece of coordinating green patterned paper. And a few more gold Nuvo drops of course.
