Jane’s Doodles Hygge Time & Wild Winter Blog Hop

Hey, hello! I’m really delighted to be joining Jane’s Doodles today for a release blog hop, showcasing the cutest stamps ever!! Giraffes driving snowmobiles? I’m here for that! Balls of yarn, afghans and stacks of books? Mmm, let me make some tea and settle right in! If you’re arriving from Anouk’s blog you’re right on track, or you can start at the beginning of the hop by going to Lien’s blog.

First up, are three cards that incorporate the new Wild Winter and Snowflakes stamp sets. In all of these cases, I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto 80lb white Neenah cardstock.

I stamped and Copic colored all the images in the Wild Winter set, adding in a couple of presents from the previously released Snow Globe stamp set. I love the absurdity of a hippo driving a snow machine, pulling a sled with an elephant toting a stack of presents, but not managing to do it without losing a few!

To make the slimline cards, I lightly inked the top of the folded card base, fading out towards the lower third. I tore two strips of vellum paper to simulate snow drifts along the bottom, then adhered the stamped, colored and fussy cut images to the vellum first, so that I could flip it over and glue the vellum behind the images so it wouldn’t show anywhere. Then I added glue to the tops of the shapes that are above the snow line, then added some snowflakes with Ranger Distress Tumbled Glass ink.

Next up are a couple of winter greeting cards using the other designs in the Wild Winter set, and the snowmen from the Snowflakes set.

I inked a shadowy night sky onto a folded card base using Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch inks from the Ranger Distress line, then die cut and colored a HoneyBee Birch Cover Plate and added my colored and fussy cut shapes in front of that. I used the Merry Christmas greeting in the Wild Winter set, stamping on black cardstock and heat setting with white embossing powder. Then finishing off with some matching enamel dots. It might be the most primary colored Christmas card I’ve ever seen!

For this card I started by stamping the assorted snowflakes in the set with Versamark ink and heat setting with clear embossing powder. Then I inked the same color combo of Ranger Distress Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch to create the night sky overtop, rubbing the ink away from the resistant snowflakes to let them really shine.

I die cut and colored some trees using the Alexandra Renke Fir Trees with Frame dies and added them behind the Copic colored snowmen to look all woodsy. The sentiment options in the Snowflakes set includes “You’re one of a kind”, which is apropos for a snowflake card, but in the end, I chose the puny love greeting for this card.

My next two cards feature the Hygge Time stamp set, full of sweet, homey images that define the cozy, comfort of the hygge aesthetic.

Both cards employ a die cut shadow box from the Pretty Pink Posh Storybook #2 and #6 dies, which I cut from heavy weight white cardstock and backed with foam adhesive strips.

I added to the Hygge Time components an additional plant from the Jane’s Doodles Plants stamp set, then Copic colored and fussy cut the pieces which I popped up with more dimensional foam tape.

For this card, I created a little shelf “tableau” using the pillow, comforter, plant and tea pot. The plant on the top shelf is also from the Plants stamp set.

That’s it for me today! All fairly straightforward cards in terms of techniques and assembly, but reflecting a delightful few hours of coloring which I don’t do often enough! Your next stop on the hop is Laura’s blog. Jane’s Doodles is taking 20% off all products in the shop from Friday, Nov 19 through Sunday, Nov 21, no code required. As well, every comment left on each of the blogs on the hop will be a ticket in the draw to win a stamp set of your choice.

Thank you so much for dropping by and have a wonderful day!
