Hello there, I’m back today to let you know that I have a post up on the Altenew Card Blog today that you might like to check out! I’m subbing in for fellow Altenew designer, Laurie Willison who is doing fun summer things with her family! But since it was Laurie’s genius you were meant to be seeing, I thought I would make a project inspired by Laurie’s Clean and Simple design style!

I used the smallest dies in the Simple Nesting Flowers Layering Dies set to die cut all the shapes I used on these two cards. Because my Altenew colored cardstock is all at home (and I’m not) I die cut from white cardstock instead, and ink blended all the shapes with Altenew Crisp Dye inks, in all of the prettiest colors!
I used the smallest of the Fine Frames Square Dies to die cut three openings in a piece of cardstock and to provide a stencil that I could ink-blend through. I used Cotton Candy, Lavender Fields and Iceberg to create the colored background squares, then positioned an assortment of blooms and leaves on each colored square.
The Fine Frames Square dies provides that thin die cut frame as well as the square opening, so once I had adhered the flowers in place I glued the thin cardstock outline die cuts in place to frame the colored squares. The colors of ink used to color the flowers are (top to bottom) Sea Breeze, Coral Bliss and Mango Smoothie, with leaves tinted with Moss, and flower centers with Warm Sunshine and Marigold.
My second card is done much the same as the first, except that it is a mini slimline size (3 1/8 x 6 1/6 folded) and has only one focal frame with flowers.
The flowers on this card are ink blended with Hydrangea and Coral Berry and the background square is Mango Smoothie. The sentiments for both cards are from the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set and are stamped with Permanent Black ink.
