Hi, hello! It’s September (all month!), and that means STAMPtember in the the stamping and card-making world! I have a card to share today that is the product of a collaboration between Simon Says Stamp (the organizers of the yearly #stamptember event) and Altnenew. Each day SSS is teaming up with one or another of the industry’s top stamp companies and today is Altenew’s turn!
I used the Botanical Motifs stamp set and Altenew inks to create the floral spray and the sentiment strip. This stamp set includes small and large layered flower images and a few layered leaves. For today’s card I chose to simplify things and only stamped layers for the small flowers and a couple of the larger leaves. Then I used some of the leaf layers as additional leaves on their own.
To vary the intensity of greens for the inked leaves, I stamped some with full resolution of ink and others I stamped off first onto a piece of scrap paper before stamping a second time on my card panel. Then I introduced some blue-green Artist Markers ink, shading a few of the leaves themselves, and adding some “dot berries” here and there.
To support the addition of blue-green, I stamped a sentiment from the Botanical Motifs stamp set onto some cardstock of a similar shade, and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I cut a narrow strip of green patterned paper and adhered it with the sentiment strip.
Finally, I rounded the corners of the finished card panel and popped it up with a layer of fun foam between it and a white cardstock card base.
