Hi, hello! Welcome back! We’re hopping today with Altenew to mark the release of some aMAZing new washi tapes!! I love these designs so much I’d like to wallpaper a room with them!! I made two cards for today’s blog hop, both using the same technique of adhering a strip of the gorgeous wide Painted Fantasy Washi Tape onto a piece of white card stock and then fussy cutting around one of the whole images.
After each was cut out, I painted the backgrounds of two pieces of watercolor paper, using similar colors to match the watercolored flowers on the tape. On one card front I painted broad stripes of color, and on the other I just painted puddles of color to create a coordinating background. On each, I stamped a sentiment from the recently released Build-A-Flower Anemone Coronaria Stamp Set.
What I love most about several of the new washi tapes being released is the watercolor designs! They are exactly what I wish I could paint like, if I were a “real” artist! So combining them with a simple painted background and layering the cut designs on top makes me feel like I had a hand in creating their beauty! At the very least, these washi tapes provide a very quick and easy way to create a jaw-droppingly-beautiful, but homemade card!
