Altenew Floral Dahlia Cards

Hi friends, hello! I have a couple of sweet cards to share with you today! I made them a few weeks back but haven’t had a chance to post them until now! I used the Floral Dahlia Stamp Set from Altenew along with a few other Altenew products.

The Floral Dahlia stamp set consists of one large corner arrangement plus three individual blooms, as well as three small leaf sprigs and six sentiments.

I began with this card by stamping one of the single bloom images onto Neenah Solar White Classic Crest cardstock with Pigment ink and heat setting with clear embossing powder. I used Altenew Artist markers to color the image and fussy cut it with my fine tipped Cutterbee scissors although there is a coordinating die set which I don’t have.

I found some diagonally striped patterned paper in my stash and adhered it to a folded card base. Next, I stamped a sentiment from the Hello Hugs stamp set onto a strip of green cardstock to match the green colored leaves.

I repeat stamped the sentiment that says “so very grateful for you” twice along the strip of cardstock, and adhered it to the striped paper, following the lines in the pattern. I adhered the flower arrangement to cover part of the sentiment strip, leaving only a single (if divided) sentiment. Finally, a few enamel dots to complete the card.

The next card features a background card panel of “patterned paper” that I made myself!

I began by filling an A2 sized card panel all over with the three individual flower stamps with Permanent Black ink. Then I used a pale grey alcohol marker to color in the background and fortunately, the real-life card is colored much more smoothly than the photo would suggest!

Once the background was colored grey, I used the largest of the detail liner pens by Altenew to add a random pattern of polka-dots all over. I adhered the stamped and colored card panel to a folded card base and then moved on to complete the rest of the card.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut another of the single bloom images, just the same as mentioned for the card above.

I used the Nesting Frames die set to die cut a label for the sentiment, then cut a white layer of “thanks” and a black cardstock background piece using the Bold Thanks die set. I adhered all the layers onto the card base using strong liquid adhesive.

Thank you for stopping by! I always appreciate your comments and support and I hope your day is amazing!
