Hey friends, hi!
There’s a mini Instagram hop going on today with The Stamp Market Shop! I’m a huge fan of this stamp company and I was delighted to get to play with a few of the June release items so I made these two cards!
For both cards, I began by covering an A2 sized piece of watercolor paper with the Painted Polka Dot background stamp, using Versafine embossing ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss it. Then I mixed up some never-to-be-duplicated-again shades of green watercolor paints and did a wash over the embossed backgrounds. I laid the paint on fairly heavily, but then I saw how busy it made the card panel and I daubed most of the color off while it was still wet. I’m much happier with the subtle, understated colors that resulted.
For the card above I stamped the Friendly Bunch stamp set with Versamark ink onto watercolor paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder, and for the 2nd card I stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink (watercolor friendly) onto watercolor paper. Then I painted in the images using variations of the same shades of pink, coral, red and green colored paints. I hand cut around the entire white embossed bouquet above and around part of the floral image below. I left an uncut strip along the side of the black stamped image below.
The Friendly Bunch stamp set has a matching Smile die that can be bundled with the stamp set. I used that die to cut the word from coordinating card stock and the background layer from vellum. I love creating variations using the same products and I lovelovelove a good floral bouquet stamp like this one!
