Hi there, I’m back as promised with another card from The Greeting Farm stamps I used in July.
I love the sentiments in the Greeting Farm YOU stamp set for their uplifting and encouraging thoughts so I combined one of them with some of the images from the With Love stamp set that I shared last week. I stamped the images for today’s card, onto Canson XL watercolor paper with Versamark embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder.
I placed the sentiment stamp where I wanted it first, then added the blooming branch, the little garden fairy and two more leaf images. I used the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform to ensure a satisfactory stamping before heat embossing.
For this card I tried out my new travel paints – the Sakura Koi pocket field sketch box! As you can see the quality of the color and paint is very nice and I’m eager to put them to the test while actually traveling away from my desk! I also used some new watercolor brushes that (so far) I really like! I was finding that the regular brushes I’ve purchases at the big box stores were fraying on the tips making it so that I couldn’t get a nice, super fine tip anymore. So I ordered 4 different sizes of the Silver Black Velvet brushes and while this was my first try with them, I really loved how they moved.
This card came together very quickly with painting in the images and then adding a color-blended wash over the sentiment. I did find that with the white outlines, the details on the little fairy’s face disappeared so I drew over them with a fine tipped Slickwriter pen. Then I added a few Pink & Main flat sequins and mounted the painted card panel onto a coordinating colored cardstock base.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
