Hello friends, I’m up on The Greetery blog with a thank you card for The Greetery Inspiration Friday! Today it’s about the plants and the pots and the red gingham tablecloths.
I’ve revisited the craft of macrame that I first tried many years ago, making a couple of real-life plant hangers for our little apartment near the grandkids, and they look just as cute as these ones!
I used a light and dark combination of three different green inks from Simon Says Stamp, Stampin’ Up and Papertrey Ink, to stamp the two step layers of the greenery on these plants from the Pot-Pourri stamp set.
Then I stamped three different pots from the same Pot-Pourri stamp set, stamping the first layer with a lighter color of ink and coming back with a partial layer of darker ink for the second stamping, to simulate the shadows.
I die cut two of the plant hangers from the Macra-Made Die set and the stitched coaster with the Cozy Cup Coaster die. I found the perfect shade of pale grey wood grain patterned paper for the background in my stash and stamped a sentiment directly onto it, from the Sentiment Suite: Thank You stamp set.
Finally, I assembled the card with a strip of red gingham paper on the bottom to suggest a table cloth, and popped the table plant up with some foam tape for extra dimension. I assembled and adhered the layers of the hanging plants together and to the card panel before adhering all the layers to the card base.
