A Side of Greens die

Jumbo Jar

Firefly Nights stamp set

Fireflies die

Shining Light die

The first card features the Sitting Pretty die set with the Sunset Skies stamp set and the Sitting Pretty Accessories and the A Side of Greens Die.

I began by die cutting all the pieces from heavy-weight white cardstock and using Copic markers to color them. I ink-blended some “honey oak” color to the floor boards of the verandah and glued the Sitting Pretty frame to another die cut fun foam layer.

I colored and shaded the leafy vines of the Side of Greens die cut and layered it along the edge of the verandah. For the card front, I stamped the clouds from the Sunset Skies stamp set and heat set with white embossing powder before ink-blending the rest of the card to create a blue sky. Then I stamped the greeting in the center with Versafine Onyx black ink.

Then came the fun of arranging all the pieces! Tucking the ferns around the pillar, hanging the geranium basket from the gingerbread trim, putting a sleeping kitty on the rocking chair and putting the mat under the rocker.

Result = too cute for words!!

Next I have a shaker card showcasing the Firefly Nights stamp set, the Fireflies Dies and the Jumbo Jar Die! There’s so much awesomeness here I don’t even know where to start!

For example, check out those fireflies! The wings are covered with Glow in the Dark powder that makes them….you guessed it….GLOW IN THE DARK!!

I started by inking a card panel with a subtle plaid background using the Tartan Builder stencils from the last release. I did this to show the transparency of the jar – that you can see through it to what’s behind. Then I stamped and heat embossed the greeting directly onto the plaid background where I wanted my jar to be positioned.

I taped the two jar dies together to die cut the outline of the jar, once from heavy-weight cardstock and again from fun foam. Then I removed the smaller die to die cut a full sized jar from clear acetate sheet, and using the negative of the jar die cut, ink blended the plaid background layer, adding a yellow glow over the word “light” and some aqua around the edges of the jar.

For the Fireflies, I die cut the bodies from grey cardstock scraps, then used some double sided adhesive sheet to layer over yellow cardstock, then peeled off the release paper on the opposite side and covered the wings with the Glow in the Dark powder – exactly as you would do with glitter.

I added some clear faceted gems to the jar and glued the acetate and outline layer over top. I stamped the “thanks” from a set you will see more of tomorrow and die cut the tags using the Sentiment Suite Basics Die set. I wrapped the jar with thin jute cord a couple of times and tied the tags to the jar.

That’s it for me today, but be sure to check back again tomorrow for Day 2 of the reveal and LOTS more awesome products and designs! The release will go live in the shop on Wednesday, July 14 @ 10am EDT. Your next and last stop on the hop is Wanda’s blog where you will be blown away by her work with this release!
