Hi, hello! I’m popping in quickly today to share a cute-as-a-button bear card that would make such a cute child’s birthday card!
Recently Spellbinders sent me a set of new Die D-Lites Etched dies to play with and I had fun putting together this adorable pieced bear, along with his little gift, as well as the Wild About You word dies.

Because I wanted to achieve a sort of “plush” look to the brown fur on the bear, I ink blended some cardstock before die cutting the pieces. I really like the fuzzy dimension that gives. Once the pieces were die-cut, I could use the foam ink blending applicator to add extra ink in places like his paws and separating his arms from his chest to define the edges and add shadows. I added the stitched smile lines with a fine-tip permanent black pen.

I created a background by combining blue and green patterned paper scraps from my stash, and using machine sewing to suggest “grass”, as well as define the outline around the outside edges. I used the heart die in the Bear, Oh My! set to die cut some hearts from a variety of pink patterned papers that I also ink blended around the edges. I adhered the paper pieced scene to an A2 sized panel of polka-dot embossed cardstock, and adhered all the layers to a card base.
Thanks to Spellbinders for the fun Die D-Lites products to play with and thank YOU for stopping by today!
