Hello friends! It’s a busy day on the blog today with 2 posts! First off, I’m up at the Jane’s Doodles blog with a couple of cards featuring these creatures from the Smile stamp set.

My last post with Jane’s Doodles was tropical flowers and treats and this week, it’s tropical birds and snakes! Yikes, right!? But when they’re as cute as these, nobody minds.

The Smile stamp set is classic Jane’s Doodles with all the little images you need to build a cute scene. I used the leaves, flowers and bird stamps for this card, and got the sentiment stamp from the Free As a Bird stamp set.

Both cards were stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored with Arteza Real Brush markers. The sentiment stamp was one long horizontal line, but I cut the stamp in half to be able to stack up the words.

The second card is fun too! I stamped several leaves (also from the Smile stamp set) onto masking paper and cut them out by hand in order to create the “jungle” of leaves hiding the saucy snake! I cut the “s” off the front of the “sending hugs” sentiment from the All Occasions stamp set, so that I could stamp it repeatedly at the front of the greeting.

Once each scene was stamped, colored with Arteza markers and splattered with some black ink drops, I die cut the rectangle panels with a Heffy Doodle Stitched Rectangles die and matted it with some coordinating colored card stock before adhering it to the card front.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check back later for another post coming up soon! Have a wonderful day!
