Jane’s Doodles Jungle Baby cards

Hello again!

I’m up on the Jane’s Doodles blog today and I wanted to share those cards over here as well.  I’ve been able to lighten my paper-crafting assignments and schedule this summer while we renovate and prepare for our daughter’s wedding in September here at our lake cottage in Canada so it’s been a while since I shared a Jane’s Doodles project.  There are new stamp sets headed my way soon, but until they arrive, I am playing with older sets.  Today I used the Jungle Baby stamp set to create one birthday card and two baby cards.

For this card I stamped on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and colored the images with both Arteza and Kuretake Zig real brush markers, then I fussy cut them and mounted them on a stitched rectangle die-cut panel on top of a patterned paper card front.  I added a few enamel dots to coordinate with the balloons to finish it off.

For the birthday card, I stamped first, onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and again onto Eclipse masking paper.  I masked off the elephant (I wish all elephants were coral colored) and balloons so I could ink blend the sky and grass in the background before coloring the images with Arteza and Kuretake Zig markers.  I used the birthday sentiment from the Belated Birthday set, and then die cut a stitched rectangle panel to pop up onto a patterned paper background from Lawn Fawn.

Finally, I stamped the elephant and balloons onto watercolor paper and used my new Altenew watercolor paint set (coming soon!) to paint the images.  I die cut the scene with a stitched circle die from Die-Namics and laid it over top a couple of coordinating patterned papers.  A few more enamel dots complete this card.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!  If you’re interested in any of the products I’ve used, click on the highlighted links to visit a trusted source for purchasing.
