Hi, hello! I’m up on the Jane’s Doodles blog today with two cards that fit the season of fall quite nicely. I always get in the mood to make leaf cards come September and this year is no exception.

I used something of a non-traditional color scheme for these fall cards, but lately this kraft/white combo has got me like! I also used leaf stamps from several different stamp sets, because that’s one thing Jane can draw, is LEAVES! I used the Thankful, Hibiscus and Tropical Fun sets for the leaves and the sentiments came from the All Occasions and Thankful sets.

I started by stamping and cutting out masks for each of the leaves so that I could build up some layers of leaf images. That probably took the most time of any part of these cards! For the white embossed lines above and below the sentiment, I drew lines with a straight edge and a Zig 2-Way glue pen, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Then I stamped the leaves, adding a few at a time, with the MISTI stamp positioner, and heat embossed those before going back and adding the masks and stamping a few more. Finally, after all the stamping and heat embossing was done, I colored them in with a white coloring pencil. That was probably the most enjoyable part of making these cards. I need to make more time in my days to just sit and color.

For the second card, I simply stamped an assortment of the leaf stamps all over the card panel, heat embossed and colored them and wrapped a stamped, embossed sentiment on vellum around the card panel before adhering it to the card base. Then a few enamel dots to finish up.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
