Good Luck Charm – Simon Says Stamp Release

Hi, hello! Simon’s Good Luck Charm release is live and man, oh man, is it chock full of good stuff or WHAT! I’ll be participating in a blog hop tomorrow, but I didn’t want to wait that long before sharing something, so here’s a quick card to show you a few of the products in the new release!

I used a few different products from the new release for this card, namely the Layered Confetti Stencil set, the Spring Stems stamp set, the Here For You die and the new Black Glossy Cardstock!

I began by ink-blending all three layers of the Layered Confetti stencil onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with a mix of Pearfection, Field, Queen, Cadette and Sunbeam Pawsitively Saturated Inks. Then I went over the entire card panel ink blending more of the same colors over the background to reduce the contrast between confetti spots and stark white behind.

Next, I stamped one of the daffodil stamps from the Spring Stems stamp set onto Neenah cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. The stamp does have a corresponding die set, but I didn’t have it so I fussy cut the flowers before adhering them to the bokeh-confetti-esque background.

Finally I die cut the greeting with the Here For You die set, from the Black Glossy Cardstock in this release. (The paper is actually more high-sheen than high gloss if that matters to you.) Rather than trimming my standard of 1/8″ on all sides to mat with a folded card base, I trimmed 1/4″ off the left side and used the band of white as an accent.

The mesh bags and triangle trays pictured above are a couple of other products I’m excited about in this release! The mesh bag has already accompanied me on an out of town plane trip, keeping all the things in my backpack separated from the other things!

Please pop back here tomorrow for the release blog hop when I’ll have two more cards to share with different products from the release!
