Altenew Simple Roses Cards

Hello, hi! Did you catch the Altenew release blog hop yesterday? Wasn’t it so full of gorgeous new products and team projects?? Today I have some more for you! The Simple Roses Stamp, Stencil and Die Set was part of the release and what a gorgeous set it is!!

I’m up on the Altenew Card Blog today with these cards and if you need more photos and details, feel free to click on over to there.

In this stamp set are three large blooms, two leaf images and one small stemmed bud plus many interchangeable sentiments. For my first card, I used the small bud image and colored it with Altenew’s alcohol-based Artist Markers.

I die cut the stamped and colored images and lined up three of them to “grow out of” the happy birthday sentiment strip. I used a piece of patterned paper from the Essential Black & White paper pack for the background, trimming it slightly smaller than A2 size. Quick and simple, zip, zap, zoop!

Next up is another Clean and Simple styled card that features one of the blooms in the Simple Roses stamp set, along with the leaves, repeatedly stamped, colored and die cut. I also added a stand-alone die cut from the Hanging Garden Die set, cut from black cardstock.

I used Artist Markers to color these images as well, opting for a paler color palette than the card above or below. For the greeting I combined two of the mix-n-match sentiments in the set, snipping the “doing great” apart so that I could stack them above each other. As with all of the flowers and leaves on today’s cards, I stamped on Neenah heavy white cardstock with Obsidian Pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. (Sometimes alcohol based inks don’t play well with embossed outlines so I color carefully up to, but not over the stamped lines. I learned how to do that in kindergarten. *grin.)

Finally, my favorite of today’s cards! It’s just so vibrant and brimming with life and color! I used the largest rose and one of the two smaller blooms along with the stemmed bud and several leaves to “build” this card design.

Once more, all the stamped and die cut images are colored with Artist Markers. For the background of this card, I also used the Artist Marker Refills, pouncing and smooshing the alcohol based ink onto Yupo paper and attempting to create a lush, foresty background for the roses. Very English Garden wouldn’t you say?? The greeting is another combination of the sentiments included in the Simple Roses stamp set and is stamped on heavy black cardstock, heat embossed with white embossing powder and popped up with foam tape behind. I finished each of these cards off with some black enamel dots.

Thanks for visiting today. I alway appreciate you coming by and the kind comments you leave! Have a wonderful day!
