Hi friends, I’m excited to participate in the Altenew July Release of Stencils, Enamel Dots, Creative Cutouts and Decals! You should be arriving here from Laura Jane’s blog, but if not, you can click back to the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog and see it all!
I have two cards to share today; the first one using the Alphabet Stencil and the second using one of the Creative Cutouts.
I began by positioning the stencil over a Classic Crest Solar White card panel so that the letters spelling HI were in the upper left corner, then pressing embossing ink over the stencil through those two letters and heat embossing with white embossing powder. Next, I ink blended with Aqualicious, Grass Fields, Warm Sunshine and Coral Berry inks, blending corner to corner and letting the colors blend from one into the next.
Then I repositioned the Alphabet Stencil over the card panel again, lining up with the HI letters, and ink blended with more of the same previously used inks.
I completed the card with some black ink speckles and a “how are you?” greeting from the Halftone Hello Stamp set stamped on black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
My second card today uses some of the leaf sections from the Nested Wreath Creative Cutouts. These Creative Cutouts are laser cut from white cardstock. I wasn’t sure how they would take different coloring mediums, so I tried watercoloring for a start and was quite pleased with the results! The paper is not watercolor paper, but it did absorb the pigment and moisture very similarly to watercolor paper.
In the Nested Wreath Creative Cutouts set, there are three different sized wreaths and two of each. I cutup the middle sized wreath in sections, about 3″ to 5″ then painted them and set them aside to dry.
Next, I stamped a card panel with the Dainty Swiss Dots background stamp and heat set with gold embossing powder. Then I layered the dried laser cut leaves onto the card panel and added a stamped, die cut bloom from the Build-A-Flower: Primrose stamp set. I stamped a sentiment from the Dainty Swiss Dots stamp set onto matching grey cardstock, heat set with gold embossing powder, trimmed it to a narrow strip and adhered it to the card front.
