As the card on the right says, Hello, how are you? I’m back with these cards that I’m sharing on the Altenew Card Blog today and wanted to share here as well. One thing I love in card making is texture. Most often I use embossing folders, sometimes I used stencils and paste, but today I tried something a little different.
I started by die cutting several die cuts of a couple of different word dies; Fancy Hello (coming soon) for the lavender colored card and hugs for the white card. I arranged the dies all over an A2 sized card panel and used spray adhesive to adhere them one at a time. After they were all in place and stuck fast, I trimmed the edges of their overlaps.
The lavender colored card stock is Winter Clouds from Altenew, and it’s a very pretty color that has a hard time translating by photo. The die cut words look slightly darker in the photo but are exactly the same in real life. *shrug emoji
I stamped the leaf branch in the Wallpaper Art stamp set onto vellum paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder before die cutting it and adhering it to the card panel with tiny drops of liquid glue on the back of several leaves.
I stamped the sentiment from the Halftone Hello stamp set onto grey cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I also layered a strand of silver floss between the sentiment strip and the vellum leaves, then adhered the card panel to a Neenah Solar White card base and added a few small rhinestone gems to complete the card.
I created the Hugs card in the very same way as the Hello card above, but added a layer-stamped and fussy cut floral image from the Build-A-Flower Gardenia stamp set for a focal point.
I stamped a mask shape of the flower and used the lightest three shades of the Enchanted Garden ink set to stamp the Gardenia, and tucked the leaves under the flower petals using the Green Fields inks to stamp the leaves. I stamped a sentiment from the Dotted Blooms stamp set onto a black cardstock strip and heat embossed with white embossing powder. This time I glued on some lavender colored sequins to compliment the flower and finish the card.
