I created my Sunburst Azalea by die cutting from watercolor cardstock and painting the layers in order of light to dark according to the samples shown on the package insert. I mixed up the shade of coral/red using the 36 Pan watercolor set, and just added more or less water to lighten or deepen the tint.
For the leaves, I die cut them from an already painted up piece of watercolor paper – a trick I like to do to save time for future projects.
Once dry, I adhered all the pieces together in the order indicated and let them dry.
For the background, I ran a piece of cardstock through the die cutting machine with the Areca Palm 3D embossing folder, then used Forest Glades and Moss inks to ink blend over the textured surface.
I die two layers of the Tiny Sentiments and Hello die, and stamped the remainder of the greeting onto the attached band along the bottom.
Then I positioned the azalea flower where I wanted it to go, and added the greeting over top. Some simple clear sequins complete the card.
