Hi there! I have two more Cattleya cards to share with you today! I’m up on the blog at Altenew again and as you might remember, I recently posted a card made with the newly released Build-A-Flower Cattleya set, but I only made one card for the release post and the layered stamping set is so beautiful I had to make more!
I began by stamping onto Neenah Solar White card stock, with the Coffee Break ink set for the first card, stamping the outline in black ink. I die-cut the flower then set it aside to finish the rest of the card.
I die-cut two more pieces of the flower from card stock to adhere together to give the layer-stamped flower more dimension.
For the second card I stamped the layers with and Buttercream from the Summer Afternoon set with Sunkissed, Orange Cream and Autumn Blaze. (The Tiger Lily is the official flower of the province where I grew up – Saskatchewan, Canada so those vivid orange colors really drew me!)
The technique I used on this card was a little more than was technically necessary, I’ll admit, but it’s one I like. Rather than simply die-cutting the flower and adhering it to the card front, overtop the patterned papers, I also die-cut the polka dotted background and inlaid the flower into the background. So I had to take care to keep track of all the tiny in-between bits in order to also inlay them back into the design. The sentiment is stamped from the Build-a-Flower: Gardenia stamp set. Both cards are finished up with a few enamel dots.
Some of the supplies I used for today’s projects are linked below for your ease in finding them and getting them for your own! Thanks so much for stopping by!
