Hi, hi! I’m back today with another card for the Simon Says Stamp Make Magic release! I used the Mountainscape background stamp and painted a monochromatic scene as the backdrop to a “missing you” message.

I stamped the red-rubber foam backed stamp onto an A2 sized watercolor card panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat set with clear embossing powder.
I chose the darkest shade of midnight blue paint in the Mijello Mission Gold paint palette and added some black to it to deepen the color for painting the trees at the bottom of the scene. Then, adding more water as I ascended, I painted the rest of the forest and mountains and finally the sky, even adding some verrrry diluted color to the clouds which looked too starkly white to that point.
I stamped a sentiment from the World of Love Sentiments stamp set onto a narrow strip of watercolor paper and heat set again with embossing powder. (You can see when I heat embossed the mountains I wasn’t diligent enough with the anti-static powder bag and so I embossed some stray powder on the mountain top in front. If it were anything but mountains, where I can excuse it as a little “snowstorm” I would actually re-stamp and repaint. Fortunately though, I’m gullible enough to believe myself.)
To complete the card, I added dark blue splatters of paint, trimmed the panel to reveal a coordinating dark blue mat, added a small red enamel heart and adhered the sentiment strip to the bottom.
That’s it for today, thank you so much for joining me and I hope you are inspired to get creative!
