My first card features the CAF Cistus Layering Die Set. Not being entirely sure what the Cistus flower looks like, I searched images online and found a lovely white bloom from the Rock Rose family with maroon and yellow centers and bright green leaves.
I wanted to try and duplicate that with white and pale grey cardstocks, so I dug through my stash, and ended up coloring white cardstock with the palest shades of grey alcohol markers.
I die cut all the layers of the blooms, leaves and stamens and colored them with alcohol markers to get the exact shades I wanted. I assembled all the layers and arranged them on a card panel to allow a slanted sentiment strip to be stamped between the layers of background patterned paper and flowers.
I used a sentiment from the Sentiment Strips stamp set and heat set with silver embossing powder. At some point I will have to trim off the tip of that top leaf to fit the card in an envelope. Either that, or make a custom sized envelope to fit – which, because that perky leaf is so cute, is not entirely out of the question!
My next card is showcasing the Coffee Break Gradient Cardstock paper pack and I used the Craft-A-Flower: Daisy die set to create the flower and leaves.
To add a bit more definition to the flower petals I drew shadow strokes with the Morning Frost Artist Marker. The leaves are white cardstock die cut and colored with the Green Meadows Artist Markers.
I used another sentiment stamp from the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set and heat embossed with clear embossing powder over Obsidian Pigment ink. I used the Cistus card above as a design jumping off point, which made this card come together very quickly!
I added some enamel dots from the Green Meadow enamel dot pack and lickety-split, this card is finished!
