Hey, hi! How are you all? I’m happy to be joining Altenew for the Stargazer Build-A-Flower release blog hop today. This is a particularly beautiful layering stamp set with matching dies and I made two cards to share with you. You should have arrived here from Virginia’s blog, but if you’ve happened here by chance, you can click back to the start of the blog hop at the Altenew Card Blog and that way you won’t miss anything!
I did one flower set in a classic color scheme of pink, and the second one I did in muted sepia(ish) color combo.
For the pink flower and card, I used the Tea Party family of pink inks along with the three green inks in the Green Fields color set. Because I wanted the overall impression to be light and pastel, I didn’t stamp the first layer of the lily at all, so the white, highlighted areas are where the first layer would normally be. The leaves are stamped with three colors and three stamp layers.
I used the coordinating dies to die cut the flower and leaves and arranged them to span the width of an A2 sized card panel. I stamped the small flower clusters in the set in a pale grey ink, positioning them on a piece of white cardstock so that they appear to peek out from behind the Lily.
I stamped a sentiment from the BAF: Stargazer stamp set on pink gingham and heat embossed with platinum embossing powder. To complete the card, I added some Nuvo dots in green.
For the second card, I used all 4 shades of the Delectable Delights ink color family for the lily, and three shades of the Coffee Break color family for the leaves.
I started by stamping the layers of the Lily, then made a mask to cover it and stamped the leaf layers and the small flower clusters behind the Lily. I then hand cut the bottom right corner of the floral arrangement and used a sharp Xacto knife and straightedge to cut the bottom and right hand edges.
I stamped a sentiment from the Winter Cardinal stamp set and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Then I positioned the card panel over a coordinating gingham patterned background and added some gold Nuvo drops for embellishment.
