Altenew Build-A-Flower: Primrose Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello friends, and welcome back for another Altenew blog hop! Today we are showcasing the July Build-A-Flower: Primrose release. You should be arriving here from Laurie’s blog, but if you’ve happened here by chance, you can click back to the start of the hop at the Altenew Card Blog.

As you can see, I got a little carried away again. But these sweet little flowers are so easy to layer and create, and I wanted to make all the color combinations possible, and well…there you go!

All of my flowers are stamped with Obsidian Black ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and are layered with a variety of ink families, including Red Cosmos, Tea Party, Rose Petal, Cherry Blossom, Golden Sunset, Summer Afternoon and Enchanted Garden. The leaves are layered using the color families of Green Fields, Spring Bouquet, Green Meadows and Sweet Dreams.

After die cutting the lot with the coordinating dies, I set about assembling card fronts. It’s kind of fun, when you have a whole pile of options, to just try any number of arrangements. I combined the stamped and layered leaves from the Primrose set with some palm leaf die cuts from the Parlor Palms Die set, cutting some from leftover pieces of watercolor practice sheets, to plain white cardstock.

I even opted for some really vibrant color combinations that are a little outside my comfort zone, but are very pleasing in the end! I used the Create-A-Wreath die set to die cut a couple of layers of frames from discarded, practice pieces of watercolored cardstock, to create the round and oval frames on the two cards above. I cut extra layers from white cardstock in order to stack them up and give them extra dimension.

I love the combined sherbet shades of Enchanted Garden, Golden Sunset and Cherry Blossom on the card above, and when paired with equally delicious candy floss shades of patterned papers, well, that’s it, I’m finished!

The greeting on this card is from the BAF Primrose stamp set. It offers a wide variety of sentiments all incorporating the beautiful “amazing” word stamp.

This card uses another combination of greetings from the Primrose stamp set, along with the round Create-A-Wreath die and some Parlor Palm leaves.

For this bright pink card I stamped a sentiment from the Wavy Roses stamp set and heat set with white embossing powder to coordinate with the white Parlor Palm leaves.

My last card has a sentiment from the Birthday Builder stamp set, one of the most versatile sets I own! I added yellow/orange enamel dots to the centers of all my flowers to add some extra pizzazz!

This is a monthly subscription plan for the Build-A-Flower set. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in our monthly BAF releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! ($35.00 →$29.99)

That’s it for me today, but as always, there are prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog for a chance to win.  They will also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on THIS POST on 7/11/2020.
