Altenew Artist Markers Set D Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there, and welcome back! I’m joining the Altenew Artist Markers Set D blog hop today and have 3 cards to share with you! You’ve likely arrived here from Keeway Tsao’s blog but if not, you can click back to the Altenew Card blog where the hop begins. Below you will also find the complete blog hop list.

For each of my cards today I used the Cherished Memories stamp set, stamping with black ink onto white card stock, then coloring with the Artist Markers Set D. This new release includes the color families of Rose Petal, Sea Shore and Coffee Break, and as always gives you 4 colors in the same color family with gradation from light to dark.

For this 1st card, I colored the flower with the 4 shades of the Rose Petal family and then added some Blush to overlay the petals and add some interest. In the same way, I colored the leaves with the 4 Sea Shell colors and then added some warm Frayed Leaf and Bamboo over top. The sentiment on this card is from the Always There stamp set, and I added the black edge definition by drawing a wobbly line with a Copic Fine Liner pen. I also finished the card by adhering some matching enamel dots from the Altenew Embellishment pack.

For my second card today, I created a bouquet by stamping and masking the various images from the Cherished Memories stamp set and used only the color families in the Rose Petal and Sea Shore set to color the bouquet. I colored the flowers as I typically do, but I did the leaves a little differently, emphasizing the stripes in the leaves with a mix of the 4 shades of Sea Shore all over the leaves.

I fussy cut the whole bouquet and popped it up with some dimensional foam tape overtop of some patterned paper I had in my stash. I used one of the sentiments from the Cherished Memories set as well, and once again I hand drew a border around the card. The little enamel heart is from the Altenew embellishments pack.

For the last card, I used only the colors in the Coffee Break Artist Markers set. I colored the leaves in the same way as the card above and tried to create a lighter side and a darker to each leaf by using mostly the two lightest markers on the top side of the leaf and the two darker markers for the bottom of the leaf. I decided I didn’t care for the stark difference between the brown leaves and the white card stock so when I was finished coloring I sponge-blended some Sand Dunes Crisp Dye ink all over the card panel.

I die cut 4 layers of the letters Y, O and U from the Altenew Fine Alphabet die set and adhered them in a stack. Then I stamped a sentiment from the Parrot Paradise stamp set, on the same dark brown card stock that I used for the die cut letters and the card mat. I found that the letters and sentiment got a little lost on the busy background, so I wrapped the card panel with a vellum strip and adhered the sentiment to that. Then I added some gemstones in a coordinating shade and this card is finished.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Feb 13, 2019 for a chance to win. Six winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on Feb 16, 2019. As well, I will be randomly choosing one reader to win a $30 gift certificate to the Altenew store, from the comments left on this post. I will announce the winner by Feb 13, 2019.
