The Greetery – Merry Makings – Day 3 Reveal

Hello everybody, and welcome back to Day 3 of the Merry Makings reveal blog hop with The Greetery! You should be arrive here from Kelly’s blog but if not, you’ll find the complete hop list at the bottom of this post.

It might just be me (I doubt it though), but today’s projects are the most exciting yet!! So check them out, and make your list; only one more sleep until they’re available in the store!

Today we’re going to show you:

  • Hug in a Mug
    • Hug in a Mug main die
    • Hug in a Mug Saucer die
    • Hug in a Mug Sweet Treats die
    • Hug in a Mug stamp set
  • S’more Holiday stamp and die + Graham Cracker Cuts die

Let’s go!

Can you even??

I mean seriously. CAN. YOU. EVEN!?!?

Sorry, there are going to be a LOT more photos today than are strictly necessary, because I just can’t get enough of these cute Hug in a Mug 3D stamp and die sets! Oh and check this out!!

You can pull up on the steam and reveal the treats hiding inside! GAH!

And then we have the Sweet Treats dies! As if the cups and saucers weren’t enough! I made mine from colored foam sheets and tinted them with ink and blender brushes to make them look even more real!

There are layering stamps to create the latte art on top similar to the previously released Cozy Cup stamp set. The die for that “lid” has a slit in it to allow you to insert the steam and secure it on the backside to create a nice sturdy little “handle” for pulling up the top!

The stamp set also includes 5 different mug trims and an array of greetings to stamp on the side of the cup! To the red cup I added the stamped snowflakes from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set revealed yesterday.

Also included in the die set is a small circle die for die cutting a straw sized hole, or maybe a candy cane sized hole! (I actually went shopping for candy canes to add to my designs to show you but Halloween isn’t even over yet, so it’s too early for candy canes, but the minute I see them in stores!!) There’s a selection of embellishments too, including some sprinkles for the cookies, clear sugar crystals and chocolate bits and more (MARSHMALLOWS), that I would have loved to show you but that didn’t arrive in time to include in the photos.

In the meantime though, I totally faked you out with the marshmallows floating in the hot chocolate, didn’t I! They’re real mini marshmallows adhered to the surface of the coffee/cocoa/latte! I cut them in smaller angled shapes to make them appear to be barely breaking the surface of the liquid!

Not content to stop at the 3D cups, I also made a clever (and super simple) gift card holder! The die cut for the lid of the cup has 6 tabs all around. I cut off the four tabs on the sides and left intact only largest one on the bottom and the top of the hexagon shape.

The saucer has a hexagon shape without tabs and I used it for the front of the slider, stamping the latte art on the front. When you fold the top and bottom tabs back and glue them to the plain hexagon on the front, it perfectly fits a gift card! I stamped one of the greetings on the top, and adhered a sugared jam cookie to the top, to embellish it and provide a “handle” for pulling it off the card.

I can’t wait to whip up a bunch of these for fun little gifts!

But wait, there S’MORE!

Check out the gift tag I made with the S’More Holiday stamp and die set and Graham Cracker Cuts die! I die cut two layers of kraft cardstock with the graham cracker die for an extra sturdy little gift tag and to provide a darker layer to emphasize the holes in the cracker. I used a Q-tip to add an inked shadow around the holes and along the perforated break lines.

I stamped the layers of the marshmallows on a stick and the chocolate squares and die cut them with the matching dies. For reference, the chocolate square in the background of the photo – with the white edge, is both layer stamps stamped on white cardstock, and the squares on the cracker tag itself are just the detail layer stamped onto kraft cardstock.

Then I stamped the layered S’more and die cut three layers to stack them together. I stamped and heat embossed the rest of the greeting, punched a hole for the jute and twine string and adhered everything together! I am just dying over the cuteness!!

Sorry, the number of exclamation points in this post might actually be a personal best, but truly, The Greetery has outdone themselves with this release and I’m too excited and delighted to dial it back!
