Hello and welcome back! We’re hopping with Technique Tuesday today, to celebrate the May release! You should have arrived here from Kymona Tracey’s blog, but if not, you can click back to the beginning so you don’t miss anything!
I used the Animal House stamp set called Alligators and Crocodiles to create today’s card. There is also a coordinating die set although I didn’t use them on this card. I probably I don’t have to remind you how much I love the punny sentiments that Technique Tuesday does so well, and this month is no exception!
I think the sentiments on this card make it a perfect way to re-connect! I just know the cute Gator-diles will bring a smile as they re-open the lines of communication!
I stamped on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine ink, because it tolerates water well. I knew I wanted to color with my Arteza Real Brush markers, and they like to be blended with a water brush.
One critter was stamped on top, with it’s sentiment, and another stamped below with it’s corresponding sentiment. At that point I felt like the balance was a little weak, so to visually weight each component, I added black pen lines with two different thicknesses of permanent markers, drawn with a straight edge and held breath!
Then, to finish with a flourish, but still keep the design relatively “Clean and Simple” I added a single heart shaped enamel embellishment in the center. And that more than anything says, “Hi, I miss you, it’s been too long, lets talk!” Don’t you think??
I have two more cards coming, made with this stamp set as well as cards made with the other stamp and die sets from the May Technique Tuesday release. Watch for those soon!
