Hello friends, I’m back again today with another card project to share! Today I’m showcasing the October Greenhouse Society stamp and die set, Holly.
I used only the stamps for today’s card, but I did use the matching dies for another card that I’ll be sharing soon!
I stamped an all over design onto watercolor paper and heat embossed with platinum embossing powder. I used Mijello Mission Gold watercolors to paint the entire card panel.
Once finished and dry, I added paint splatters using the paint colors leftover in my palette. I used the smallest stitched rectangle die in the Simon Says Stamp rectangle dies to die cut the opening for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment on the card base itself and popped up the painted card panel with foam adhesive.
And yes, I see it now. In my desire to not lose any more of the painted design than I had to, I die cut the opening neither in the center of the card, nor far enough to the left to not look awkward. I’m sorry, I can’t unsee it either. But I’d already invested enough time that I wasn’t going to do it over. And so, it will remain a cautionary tale for all those who come after…
Finally, I added some silver(ish) rhinestones to coordinate with the platinum embossing powder and the card is completed.
