Hi, hello! I’m back again today to share another of the projects I made using the Monkey Business stamp set – this month’s selection for the Animal House series.
I made this card specifically so I could use that cute little banana stamp! Who hasn’t dreamed of raining bananas I ask?!
I covered an A2 sized card panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock with randomly stamped bananas, colored them with Copic markers and then covered all the bananas in the bottom right part of the card panel, with a masking fluid, like Frisket. I die cut a circle from masking paper and positioned it over the masked bananas then ink blended the circle with Ranger Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans. Once finished, I rubbed the dried masking fluid off, revealing perfectly preserved and pristine bananas underneath!
I used a black pigment liner pen (0.5mm) to draw stitch lines around the circle. The bananas monkey is also stamped onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I used the coordinating Monkey Business dies to die cut three more layers of the monkey so I could glue them together into a stack.
The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed onto the very edge of a strip of black cardstock which I adhered across the bottom front of the card to anchor the image and the leaf die cuts. I inked the edges of the leaf die cuts for added interest, adhered them to the black strip and tucked them under the stacked monkey image. I used Tonic Nuvo Drops in Bottle Green to create my own “enamel dots”.
