Spellbinders Circle of Sunshine Card

Hello friends! Today’s card is featuring the Spellbinder’s June Clear Stamp of the Month set, called Circle of Sunshine, and although I didn’t have it, it pairs very nicely with the Die of the Month Club too. You can check out the many, varied subscription clubs available at Spellbinders here.

This month’s stamp set includes 6 different circle icons like the one I’ve used on my card today, as well as 7 sentiments and a variety of supporting images.

I stamped the desert scene in the circle onto watercolor cardstock, painted it and die cut it with a circle die in my stash. I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

For the background, I used the Fun Stampers Journey Grid Paper stamp set on more watercolor cardstock and heat set with white embossing powder. Then I painted a blended wash on the background using similar colors as I’d used on the vignette, letting it partially dry and then dropping some contrasting colors into random squares on the design. I love the effect and how it stands in for embellishing the way enamel dots might.

This card came together so quickly and easily and if I ever get back home to AZ again, it will be the perfect card to send to a friend who’s not in AZ!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
