Hi, hello! It’s been a minute, huh? I’m back today with a card that I’m sharing on the Jane’s Doodles blog today, featuring a couple of stamp sets that give me all the Hawaiian vacation feels. I used the Hibiscus and Tropical Fun sets for the blooms and leaves, and the Kind stamp set for the sentiment.

I stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and did all the coloring and blending with Arteza real brush markers and a water brush.

I did something with this card that I don’t very often do. I incorporated the inside of the card with the front of the card. Does that make it an interactive card? Of the most basic kind?

I began by die cutting a circle from the front of a card base, then running the front fold through an embossing folder (Dapper Diamonds from Sunny Studio). Then I stamped, colored and fussy cut one bloom and several leaves to arrange on the front of the card. With the card closed, I positioned the bloom in the MISTI so that it would stamp in the correct place on the inside of the card. I stamped and cut a few masks to get the leaves positioned under the petals of the Hibiscus flower.

I die cut another two circles – one inside the other, to create the pink ring that frames the circle opening on the front and inside. I love this layered look and I might have to try it again with some other images!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
