Hi, hello! I’m away from my craft table this weekend, but wanted to pop in here with a greeting and hello to all my fellow paper loving artists! I love that today, International Scrapbooking Day is encompassing all the paper arts so that I can join the festivities with a card!
I made this card using the die from Spellbinders called Flowers Whisper. What a perfectly beautiful name for a perfectly beautiful die!
I began by die cutting the design from Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and adhering a sheet of Press and Seal to the back so that all the pieces would stay together intact. Then I colored the flower insert pieces with Arteza watercolor pens and used a waterbrush to blend the shades. I die cut another design from a piece of white cardstock and used the outline portion of the die cut to lay over top the colored portions and glued the second layer over the first with liquid adhesive.
After applying another sheet of Press and Seal to the front of the colored design, I could remove the Press and Seal from the back and cover the die cut with adhesive. Then I adhered that to the front of a card panel made up of coordinating patterned papers from Lawn Fawn.
The sentiment is a stamp from the Spellbinders Floral Love clear stamp set, inked with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. All in all, a pretty simple card design, but so effective with that large pieced die cut! Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a chance to get crafty sometime this weekend!
