Hello, hi! I’m back today with a couple of cards to share, showcasing one of the new stamp sets just released at Gina K Designs and illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger called Stately Flowers 13!
You might not know this about me, but I am Canadian. I live in Arizona now though, and have for the last 12 years! So as an “almost native” (I think you have to live here 15 years to be considered “full native”) of Arizona, when I saw the subject of this stamp set I couldn’t wait to make some cards with it! Stately Flowers 13 follows Stately Flowers 1-12 and features the state flowers of Arizona, Georgia and New Mexico.
For my first card, I stamped the Saguaro Bloom image onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored with alcohol markers. I fussy cut the image and layered it overtop a text-stamped hexagon die cut.
I made a decorative strip by stamping two of the word stamps onto black cardstock and heat setting with white embossing powder. I chose a strip of lime green cardstock from a DCWV Mat Stack pad to bring out the green in the flower petals that you can’t see very well since I edited the photos and lightened the color to pick up all the details. (Scroll down to the last photo to see the hint of green I’m talking about.)
I stamped the sentiment from the same Stately Flowers 13 stamp set, popped up the floral image with foam tape and tied some green cord around the card front to finish it up.
For my next card I stamped the Saguaro Cactus Blossom again a couple of times, colored it as I did for the card above and positioned them behind a trio-square die cut opening (die is HoneyBee Square Window) that is popped up with more foam tape.
I stamped the same sentiment onto more of the same green textured cardstock and heat set with clear embossing powder. I left the card plain, without extra embellishments, but in this last photo you can see a little of the green color in the petals that I was referring to earlier.
All of our kids and family live elsewhere so there are a few people in my life that I miss when they leave AZ to go home and these cards will be perfect for them! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
