Hello, hi! Welcome to the Altenew Summer Adventure Blog Hop, showcasing a gorgeous release of stand alone dies! You should be arriving here from Vicky Papaioannou’s blog, but if not, you can click back to the Altenew Card Blog where the hop starts if you don’t want to miss anything! A complete hop list is posted at the end of the page for reference in case of a broken link.

For my first card, I used the Peeking Leaves Cover Die to make a double-fold card. There’s probably a more official name for this style of card, that folds at both top and bottom, but I don’t know what it is. I’m usually only about the standard, basic style cards, but today each of my cards are a little different from what I usually do.
I began by die cutting the Peeking Leaves Cover die twice from 110lb cardstock, then ink-blending with three different shades of green inks. I poked out about half of the die cut sections of leaves and kept the others intact.
I glued one of the ink-blended die cuts to a top-folding A2 sized card, with the fold along the bottom. The second die cut is adhered to a sheet of heavy-weight vellum paper cut 1/2” longer than A2 size and scored and folded at the top.
I adhered the folded strip at the top of the vellum panel to the backside of the bottom layer of the folded cardstock card below. As you can see, I adhered the die cut with the leaves all at the top on the front/vellum panel, and reversed it to have the leaves along the bottom on the inside layer.
I stamped a “thinking of” sentiment from the Sentiment Strips stamp set onto grey cardstock and die cut the “you” with the All About You Word Die set.
I die cut another layer of the silhouette layer of the “you” word to glue on the back of the vellum layer so that you wouldn’t see the glue on the backside of the front panel die cut, and I did the same for the sentiment strip, stamped with the Sentiment Strips stamp set.
Next up are the first mini-slimline cards I’ve ever made, measuring 2 7/8”x 6 7/8”. I chose those dimensions because they fit the Abstract Seascape Slim Cover Die so nicely.
I began by ink-blending all over a piece of cardstock just larger than the die itself, combining shades of blues and greens (See the LinkDeli list below for specific colors) then die cut the Seascape die.
I used the outline portion of the die cut to glue down the insert pieces onto a white cardstock folded card base. I even used the border around the die cut frame and adhered that to outside edges.
For the second card, I used the ink-blended frame from the first card and stacked it up with two more layers of die cut cardstock behind it.
For the inserts or negative spaces, I die cut a variety of blue/green shades of pieces of patterned papers from my stash and adhered them into the openings.
For the greetings I die cut the words “miss” and “hello” from the All About You Words Die set, and completed the greetings with the Hello & Hugs sentiment set, stamping on white cardstock and heat embossing the Versamark-inked phrases.
That’s all for me today, but there’s SOOO much more to see over the rest of the hop! Your next stop is Jenny Colacicco’s blog. Before you go though, there are a couple of things to know…
