I made two cards with this release, and I go into more detail on the Altenew Card Blog today about how I made them, if you’d like to check it out.

To start though, I stamped the floral image in this stamp set, (embossing ink and white embossing powder) all over an A2 sized card panel of watercolor paper before painting it with a color scheme of moss green, blue, turquoise and emerald green.

I sort of limited the moss green to the leaves, but really didn’t worry about where what colors hit what other areas of the stamped panel. The sentiment was a nice surprise – to discover that yes, you absolutely can stamp with Obsidian Black Pigment ink overtop of other stamping (white) and heat emboss the black without negatively impacting the original white embossing!

I added a few black enamel dots to support the black sentiment and finish off the card.

For the next card, I painted some cut off watercolor cardstock strips (leftovers from trimming up a watercolor paper pad into A2 sized panels, and destined for the trash if I hadn’t decided to use them like this) in all the same colors of paint as the card above.

Then I trimmed the painted paper strips to varying widths and adhered them all together with Washi tape on the back. I placed that stripped panel in the MISTI and stamped the Dahlia image multiple times to get a solid white heat embossed outline image. I heat embossed one of the sentiments in the set on a strip near the bottom and added some clear and some white hole-less sequins to finish off the card.

I usually color the Paint-A-Flower sets with paint, markers or coloring pencils, but it’s nice to see that these designs look just as amazing used with this quick and easy technique!
