Hey there, hi! I’m up on the Altenew Card Blog today, taking my turn at posting an Inspiration Challenge and this month I’m using the photo above, taken last year at a garden supply center, with the lovely color scheme shown!
As usual I couldn’t stop at just one card, so I made two! The color combination of lavender, blue and green is just so delicious!
For the first card I stamped a wreath onto watercolor cardstock from the Weekend Doodles Stamp Set with embossing ink and silver embossing powder, and die cut it with the coordinating die. I painted it with colors from the new 24 pan Artist Watercolors Palette and used the same colors to splatter paint onto the watercolor cardstock background panel.
I also stamped a few branches from the Vase Fillers Stamp Set with coordinating ink colors, then die cut them with the coordinating dies.
I stamped a sentiment from the Dainty Swiss Dots Stamp Set and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I trimmed the card panel on each side to reveal a matching blue cardstock mat and adhered all the layers to a card base, along with a silver thread bow on the wreath.
For my second card, I partially stamped a diamond pattern using the Pattern Play Diamond Stamp Set and heat set with white embossing powder before painting in the sections with the same colors of paint that I used above.
I also stamped some flowers and leaves onto watercolor paper and painted just the leaves, leaving the flower to stand out on it’s own. I don’t have the coordinating dies for this set, so I fussy cut each image.
I added a sentiment from the Weekend Doodles stamp set with Obsidian Black ink, splattered the card panel with more of the same paints, and adhered all the layers, including a blue cardstock mat to a card base.
