Hello friends! Today I’m joining Altenew for their July release blog hop! You should have arrived here from the blog of Flora Monika Farkas but if you’ve jumped in partway through, you can go to the Altenew Card Blog to follow the hop from the beginning.
For this month’s release, I opted to use the Needlework Motif stamp set and as often happens, once I got started, I couldn’t get stopped. So I have a few cards and ideas to inspire you today.
For the first pair of cards, I stamped with clear embossing ink onto Solar White card stock and heat embossed with silver on one card and with gold embossing powder on the other. Then I colored each with a combination of the blues and greens in the Artist Markers set A. On the all blue card, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on the navy blue card base, and cut a strip out of the colored card panel to allow the sentiment to show through. For the green/blue card, I cut the colored panel a bit narrower for the patterned paper and a narrow strip of gold paper to show along the side. Some silver sequins and Nuvo drops finishes each of these cards.
For the next two cards, I kept the designs more monochromatic, stamping again on the navy blue card stock and embossing with gold embossing powder before coloring in the shapes with the Desert Night marker from the Artist Markers Set A. The second card is also randomly stamped to accomodate sections of each of the two pattern stamps to cover the card panel, then heat embossed with white embossing powder and colored with white pencil.
For the navy and gold card, I used the same Artist Marker to color a piece of the navy blue card stock before I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, to ensure that the sentiment rectangle exactly matched the color of the gold embossed design.
I love a good kraft/white combo, so this card pleases me very much! I stamped the sentiment for this one on vellum and wrapped the strip around the front card panel. More Nuvo drops complete each of these cards.
